Dr. Mert Mestanoglu Wins 1st Prize at 33rd Biennial Cornea Conference for Research on Fuchs’ Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy

Congratulations to Dr Mert Mestanoglu from our CRC 1607 for winning 1st prize for his poster presentation at the 33rd Biennial Cornea Conference organized by Harvard Medical School, Department of Ophthalmology!

The conference took place on 4-5 October at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, Portugal, where Dr Mestanoglu was one of 39 authors presenting their research in the poster session. His poster entitled “Fibrillar Layer Positive Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy Eyes Demonstrate Tomographic Features of Corneal Edema” won first prize among all poster presenters. The study was conducted in collaboration with Dr Antonia Howaldt, Prof Mario Matthaei, Prof Felix Bock, Prof Björn Bachmann and Prof Claus Cursiefen.
